Final Episode

“Wine Women and Song”! Whichever comes first, but I would still choose wine. My love and appreciation of wine deepened after my visit to Australia’s Barossa Valley, the home of Jacob’s Creek.

Why! Just join me in the “Grapevine Connexion” for more exciting discoveries. I’m Belinda Sunshine

CON: Music

ANN: My trip to the Aussie wine country was organised by Pernod Ricard Singapore Pte Ltd.

Of all Australia’s wonderful wine regions, the Barossa Valley is best known around the world. Red wine grapes have made the Valley famous for Shiraz and Cabernet and white wine grapes have made it famous for Riesling.

Curious to find out more about the wines that were produced I spoke to Bruce Thiele Wine Promotions Manager of Jacob’s Creek:

CON: Insert Mr Thiele

ANN: Mr. Bruce Thiele.

Stimulted by ever rising export success, the Australian wine industry grows steadily year by year. I asked Rob Raffa, International Business Manager of Pernod Ricard Pacific about business in Asia:

CON: Insert Rob

ANN: Mr Robert Raffa.

Fancy having breakfast in a high altitude vineyard in the Barossa Ranges. That’s where we had bacon and sausages, scrambled eggs and Cheese etc prepared by Chef Veronica Zahra at the Steingarten Vineyard. Not to mention that it was chilly, windy yet awesome. Some how the wines kept us warm. My fellow journalists and I also had some lessons about the history and importance of the Steigarten Vineyard from Bruce Thiele. Bruce also gave us a tour of the Orlando site.

CON: Insert Bruce

ANN: The exciting day, included a wine blending seminar with Susan Mickan. And after a hard day’s work we were treated to a scrumptious Entrée of oysters, wines and a Gourmet BBQ dinner at Jacob’s Creek Heritage Vineyard.

CON: Insert

ANN: The last day of our visit at Jacob’s Creek ended with a wine tasting session with Chief Wine maker Bernard Hickin.

CON: Insert Bernard.

ANN: A chat with wine maker Bernard Hickin.

My indulgence in the Jacob’s Creek experience ended when we had to leave the Barossa Valley, be transferred to Adelaide and finally take our flight home.

Indeed it was a enriching stay and if you are a wine lover whatever you prefer, white or red, Chardonnay or Cabernet as long as it is Australian I’m sure they have the right wine for you!

This has been my Grapevine Connexion.

I’m Belinda sunshine for Radio Singapore International. Salute! Cheers and a A happy New year!
