Coming up in Connections this week, we speak to the participants from Indonesia of an English Language Course in Singapore to find out how it improved their abilities in the language and what they did to in their spare time while they were here.
Hello and welcome to the programme. I’m Yvonne Gomez.
Radio Singapore International conducted its fourth English Language Course for participants from Indonesia over the past 2 weeks.
About 20 Indonesians underwent an immersion programme that included classroom lessons, practical exercises and field trips to some of Singapore’s attractions.
They came from a variety of backgrounds and I spoke to English language teacher Buhiran from Riau’s Bengkalis region, Beldi Dimardi Abas from the Kiss media group in Medan, and Elsie, a biology lecturer from Pekanbaru.
Elsie had been particularly excited about the opportunity to come to Singapore to learn English and she told me why.
Tune in to find out more.
